Jared & Sara Mohr of Soldier IA welcomed their sons Myles & Maverick Mohr on August 11th 2018. Thanks to such great doctors, they were prepared to welcome both boys into this world knowing that Myles had a congenital heart defect that would need to be treated soon after birth. By January, Myles had already successfully completed his first two surgeries and was scheduled for his third surgery, the Glenn Procedure, which was delayed due to illness. Myles was hospitalized with RSV and pneumonia and had to be put on a ventilator due to low oxygen saturations. He was showing signs of improvement until 2:30am on February 15th, when Myles' oxygen dropped and he went into cardiac arrest. He had CPR for 43 minuted until they were able to get him on ECMO/Life Support. Myles' lungs were completely collapsed and he retained large amounts of fluid arouns his lungs and abdomen. A CT scan has been done and shows that he suffered an ischamic stroke that has stopped and will have to be removed.
Future plans will consist of pacer wires and surgery to help his heart pump correctly. There is a chance that he may have to have a heart transplant. If a heart transplant is not necessary, there will proceed with the Glenn Procedure. The expense of traveling, not being able to work and also taking care of two other children at home has brought a lot of financial stress on Jared & Sara. Please consider donating to the family. All donations are appreciated and will directly benefit the Mohr family.
