Friday, September 24th at the Fire Station
Corn Contest – Free; Bring your corn to the fire station between 3 & 5, winners will be announced at 6 during the pancake supper. Prizes to the top entries in the following categories: Best Ear, Longest Ear, Most Unusual, & Best Group of Five. Questions, please contact Roger at 712-840-1633.
McDermott Family Shows, Carnival Games, & Rides – starting at 5. Tickets are $5 for a sheet of 10 in advance, $7 for a sheet of 10 during Corn Days, $1 each if sold individually. Pancake Supper – From 5-7 pm Proceeds benefit Knights of Columbus
Gem City Royalty Crowning – Approximately 6 pm
Euchre Tournament – 6:30 pm, $5 per person. Prizes for the top players. Questions, contact Roger at 712-840-1633. Proceeds benefit Knights of Columbus.
Saturday, September 25th – Downtown
Kiddie & Grand Parade- Free- 11 am, Main Street. No pre-registration needed to be in the parade. Kiddie parade line up at 10:30 at the corner of Fourth & Main Streets. Grand parade line up at 9 am at the city park. Questions, contact Mindy at 712-880-6223.
Pedal Tractor Pull for kids & adults- Free. On Main Street after the parade. Top prizes for each age group. Questions, contact Irvin at 712-880-2874.
The Great Danbury Corn Hunt – Free. Main Street after the parade. Let your kids climb in the corn and look for fun prizes. Questions, contact Brenda at 712-840-9003.
McDermott Family Shows, Carnival games, & rides – After the parade.
Cruise-In – Free. After the parade. Dash plaques to the first 75 entries. Bring cars, trucks, tractors, semis (no trailers), bikes, etc. Questions, contact Jay at 712-880-1432.
Home Brew Beer & Wine Tasting- 12-3 pm. Prizes for the top entries. $10 gets you a sample glass to try all the available home brews. Any brewers wishing to enter their concoctions (free to enter) contact Dave at 712-880-0206. Proceeds benefit the Knights of Columbus.
Bingo – Fire Station meeting room. Begins at 12. Proceeds benefit the Danbury Catholic School.
Bag Toss Tournament – Second Street by the Fire Station. Registration begins at 12:30. The tournament begins at 1. Only 40 teams may play (age middle school & older); $20 per team. To sign up, contact Dean at 712-840-9860. Proceeds benefit the Danbury Firefighters Association.
Supper – Chicken, Brats, & Chops- 5 pm until they run out. Danbury Fire Station; Proceeds benefit the Danbury Firefighters Association.
Variety Show – Freewill Donation. Proceeds will help next year’s Corn Days. 6:30 Downtown Danbury. Want to perform in the variety show? Want to be part of the contests between each act? Contact Lynn at 712-840-0327.
Karaoke-Free. After the variety show. Try your voice at the karaoke & enjoy the Fire Departments Beer Garden.
Sunday, September 26th – City Park
Community Picnic – Free Will Donation. 11-1 at the Shelter House. Featuring food from KCK, Schrank’s Bar & Grill, & Colbert’s Market.
Kiddie Cook-Off – Open air shelter house. Food needs to be prepared by 1 (you may start cooking by 11:30). $10 entry fee (meat & grill will be provided – bring your own seasonings). Prizes to the three top chefs. Have a budding chef? Let your child (ages 6-12) show off grilling skills (with a little help from an adult)!
