Denison-Schleswig Girls Bowling Team Finishes 4th

The Denison-Schleswig varsity girls placed 4th at the state tournament. They began by bowling 15 baker games in the first round of the tournament. Some of their high
games were game #1; 191, game #3; 213, game #4; 193, game #5; 204, and game #9; 213. Collectively, the girls bowled extremely well. They
finished with a series of 2566 placing them in the 7th seed. They would begin the bracket round bowling against Fort Dodge whom they bowled
with during the first 15 games. In the quarter-finals, they bowled games of 160, 210, 183, and 174 beating Fort Dodge in the final 3 games. In the
semi-finals the girls bowled against Lewis Central. They bowled games of 135, 117, and 161. Lewis Central beat Denison in the first 3 games. The
girls finished their year in the Consolation match against Western Dubuque. They bowled games of 171, 190, 179, and 134. They lost that round 3/4
games to finish in 4th place. After last year's finish of 6th at state, it was exciting to see them place a few spots higher this year. This was a season
of ups and downs for them and we're happy to see the girls finish their season as well as they did.
