Denison City Council Approves reopening city parks and recreation facilities

The Denison City Council approved Director Brian Kempfert’s plan to reopen city parks and recreation facilities in accordance with state guidelines. There are many programs that have not finalized their schedules and summer plans. Stay tuned to KDSN for updates.
Beginning June 3rd this includes:

OPEN

Softball & Baseball Fields

Tennis Courts

Basketball Courts

Park Shelters

Playgrounds

Dog Park

Indoor pool- Open starting June 4th by appointment for lap swimming, water walking, and water exercising only – call into the Aquatic center at 263-8130 to set appointments. Plan to arrive and depart wearing your swimsuit.

Lifeguard training- yes call Aquatic center at 263-8130 to get put into the class.

Restrooms in the parks

Mini-Golf Course- awaiting completion of the renovation. Will announce the opening date when available.

 

Youth Programs:

Little League – Starting Practice June 8th. Sign up required by June 5th forms available at the Aquatic Center.

Coach Pitch- No games, but a Coach Pitch Fundamentals Camp is still being planned.

Swimming Lessons- private lessons only available.

Summer Swim team- season canceled

Youth Soccer- Full season more news coming soon.

T-Ball- season canceled

 

Adult Programs:

Sand Volleyball- TBD

Slow-pitch softball- Season details coming soon.

Double’s tennis league- TBD
