Saturday headlines! 08/29/2020
-In incident reports from the Denison Police report, two Denison residents were arrest and cited for crimes against one another. On Thursday, August 27th, 38 year old Emmanuel Figueroa was arrested and cited for 1st offense trespassing, which stems from incidents ranging sometime between August 21st and August 27.
-On the other hand 34 year old Glenda Diaz-Sanchez of Denison was also arrested on Thursday August 27th just before 7 p.m. for 1st offense domestic abuse assault.
-The Shelby County Historical Society and Museum announced that they will be re-opening to the public this Tuesday, September 1st. All visits will be by appointment and groups are limited to five or less, and will require masks. All who are interested in paying a visit are asked to email the museum to schedule their appointment.
-KCIM in Carroll reports that Governor Kim Reynolds visited Trophies Plus in Breda Friday afternoon on a tour of rural Iowa businesses and alumni of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program. Since 1984, Trophies Plus has supplied trophies, plaques, ribbons and other similar award materials. Owner, Jim Jensen, told Reynolds the pandemic had negatively impacted their operations, just like many other Iowa small businesses, and state and federal assistance, such as the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), was essential in keeping their staff employed.
