Keep Iowa Beautiful Opens 12th Annual Photo Contest
Keep Iowa Beautiful announced their 12th annual Keep Iowa Beautiful Photography contest and invited residents to snap pictures of their favorite places in the state. The competition features five categories: Iowa landscape, Iowa water, Iowa cities, Iowans in action and Iowa wildlife. The deadline to submit entries into the two-phase contest is Dec. 18. The top photos in each category will be selected by a panel of judges with prizes of $100 awarded for first place, $75 for second place and $50 for third. The top winners will be showcased on Keep Iowa Beautiful social media pages for voting on the Public Favorite Photo. That will take place from January 17-31 and comes with an additional $100 award. The Robert D. Ray Best of Show entry is determined by a panel of judges and will be announced at the end of public voting with $500 for first place, $250 for second and $100 for third. A $5 fee is required for each entry.
