Ward 1 officially elects Dustin Logan to Denison City Council
The citizens of Denison's first ward officially elected Dustin Logan to a seat on the city council Tuesday. The special election polls closed at 8 p.m. with Logan receiving 19 Election Day votes and eight absentee ballots favoring him as well. A pair of Election Day write-ins brought the total to 29 votes. Logan won by a count of 27-2 with Larry Struck and Reuben Newell each receiving one of the write-in votes. Logan is only candidate that formally submitted his name for the ballot. The council appointed him to the Ward 1 position in June after David Loeschen vacated the seat in May. A petition filed by local citizens later in June triggered the special election.
