Denison Police reporting 10 incidents since last Wednesday
The Denison Police Department is reporting a total of ten incidents since last Wednesday with the four most recent arrests happening on Sunday.
Police took Joseph Atem of Sioux City into custody at Hyvee and charged the 38-year-old male with public intoxication.
Authorities placed Caroline Wishon of Dow City under arrest at approximately 3:05 p.m. near 1st Avenue South and booked the 29-year-old female for violating a no-contact order.
Police reportedly arrested Bona Ring of Oshkosh, Wisconsin at around 2:30 a.m. near South Main Street for the 42-year-old male's first offense of operating while under the influence.
Officers apprehended a 19-year-old Denison male at just after midnight near Highway 39 and charged him with minor in possession, disorderly conduct, public intoxication, and interference with official acts.
Police arrested Luis Mendez of Denison on an outstanding Council Bluffs warrant for the 24-year-old male at just before midnight on Saturday.
Officers took Jaury Perez Rucu into custody at approximately 11:15 p.m. Saturday and booked the 23-year-old male for driving while his license is suspended.
Police apprehended 46-year-old Rickey Kroeger at just after noon Friday near South 17th Street and charged him with the fifth-degree theft of a push lawnmower. The related document indicates the mower was reported stolen on Friday, August 13th by a resident of Dow City. The theft itself reportedly happened at the Anything With Wheels parking lot on Wednesday, August 11th.
A resident of Kiron reported on Friday that his Peterbilt semi was stolen from the Ampride parking lot at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The semi was tracked by GPS to an address in Lawton and retrieved by the owner on Friday. The listed charge is first-degree theft but no arrest has been made according to the public release.
All charges are allegations and the persons named in a case are to be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The first motor vehicle accident report is listing information from just after 2 p.m. Sunday near South 8th Street. A 2010 Dodge Journey driven by 18-year-old Ulises Aguirre Cabrera of Denison was backing to another road inside the D&J Trailer Court. The Journey struck the drivers' side door of a 2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo piloted by 62-year-old Ricardo Torres of Denison. No injuries were reported and the document says neither driver was cited because the accident took place on private property. Damage estimates totaled $4,000 for the Chevy and $500 for the Dodge.
The other accident happened at around 11:30 a.m. Friday near 4th Avenue North. A 2009 Lincoln Navigator being driven by 36-year-old Maria Alvarado of Denison was traveling south in the alley of the 1500 block between 4th and 5th Avenue North. A 2020 Chevrolet Equinox piloted by 25-year-old Jacob Welper of Denison was backing out of a driveway into the alley when it struck the Navigator. Welper reportedly could not see Alvarado's SUV because of a bush blocking the line of sight. No injuries were reported and no citations were issued. The expected repair costs are $2,000 for the Navigator and $1,500 for the Equinox.
