Equipment failure causes short power outage in Dunlap
The City of Dunlap lost power at approximately 10:23 a.m. Wednesday. MidAmerican Energy restored power to 623 affected customers at 10:50 a.m., according to media relations manager Geoff Greenwood. An equipment failure caused a connector to let a wire fall onto a cross-arm on an overhead line. The outage left much of Dunlap without power. This included those south of Highway 30, north of South 10th Street and Victory Lane, west of Eaton Street, and east of 6th Street. MidAmerican Energy was working on a utility pole near Iowa Avenue on the west side of Dunlap.
