Audubon City Council to explore city building renovations
The Audubon City Council has announced members of several committees that are tasked with reviewing potential renovations or improvements at city-owned facilities during a special work session last week. City Clerk, Joe Foran, told reporters that city officials started the meeting with a discussion on possible capital improvement expenditures.
The expenses range from smaller purchases such as more recent computer software, to larger purchases, like new fire trucks and road projects. In July, the council created several committees to explore the feasibility of updates to public buildings, started with the Audubon City Hall.
The other facility of interest to the council is the community pool, with the thought of updating it. The pool was built just under 30 years ago and no longer meets the needs of local residents.
The council will present their ideas at a future meeting at make more decisions then, but Foran says there are many options on the table for both facilities, but the council has no preference at this time.
