Denison Police reporting domestic violence arrest, violent Highway 59 collision

The Denison Police Department is reporting a pair of Labor Day weekend incidents.

One public release states that officers arrested Jose Aleman Rodriguez of Denison at approximately 4:16 p.m. Friday near South 20th Street. They charged the 40-year-old male with his first offense of Domestic Abuse Assault along with Providing False Identification Information.

A motor vehicle accident occurred at around 9:39 p.m. Saturday on Highway 59.

The related document indicates that 63-year-old Catherine Gray of Brownstown, Michigan was traveling southbound on Highway 59 in a 2016 Chrysler Town and Country van. The report says Gray was looking at her GPS which caused her to miss the stop sign and t-bone the 1994 Ford Ranger pickup driven by 19-year-old Pascual Raymundo of Denison. A witness later confirmed to police that Gray did not stop at the stop sign. No injuries were reported but both vehicles were disabled. Gray was cited for failure to obey the stop sign. Raymundo was cited for not having a valid driver's license or permit. The damage estimates totaled $12,000 for the van and $10,000 for the pickup.
