Congressional candidates hold forum yesterday, again tomorrow

-Yesterday in Sheldon the candidates for Iowa's fourth Congressional District, Randy Feenstra and J.D. Scholten, held a forum that was hosted by the Iowa Corn Growers Association. Due to the social distancing required due to the pandemic, the event was not open to the public, but was attended by member farmers of the Iowa Corn Growers Association. Questions asked covered topics like broadband access, ethanol, immigration, sustainability in ag, encouraging young Iowans to begin farming, encouraging young Iowans to return to rural Iowa, and both were asked to outline their trade policy to increase the export of corn, ethanol and livestock, as well as addressing the rising cost of healthcare. The candidates will be holding another forum at the Boulders Conference Center in Denison tomorrow, also hosted by the Iowa Corn Growers Association and information on access to the event can be found on iowacorn.org
