No injuries reported after Breda Golf Course cart shed fire

No injuries were reported after multiple area fire departments responded to a structure fire at the Breda Golf Club on Thursday.

Kevin Hoffman is the assistant manager and head cook at the club and says he was serving customers lunch just before noon.

“Looking out the window beyond them I could see the smoke and I went and drove over there and investigated and said yeah we need the fire department real bad,” said Hoffman.

Multiple news outlets mentioned a battery charger could have started the fire. Hoffman says they quickly called 911 and made sure nobody was inside the cart shed.

“I really haven’t been back there to look at it since the fire department got there I kind of headed back to the clubhouse and there were more people to serve lunch and continued on with my day,” said Hoffman.

Breda Golf Club’s Facebook page called the building a total loss along with around 30 golf carts stored inside. Authorities say damages from the fire will cost around $250,000. The Breda, Arcadia, Auburn, and Carroll Fire Departments responded to the scene along with the Carroll County Emergency Medical Services and Sheriff's Office.
