Area drought conditions see significant improvement
After last week's much needed streak of rain, the surrounding areas that were in extreme drought have fortunately downgraded to severe drought.
The drought monitor shows Crawford County is in severe drought condtions, while the northwest end of the county is in moderate drought conditions. The south side of Monona County is in severe drought while the northern half is in moderate drought.
Drought conditions in the eastern edge of Ida County are labeled severe and the rest of Ida County is in moderate drought.
Sac, Ida, Audubon, Shelby, Harrison, Calhoun, and Greene Counties are blanketed with severe drought conditions.
