Harsh Winter weather expected tonight
Today blizzard conditions are expected from noon until midnight in west central northwest, and northern Iowa. According to the National Weather Service, we could see total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches with higher totals nearer the Iowa Minnesota-border as well as Winds gusting as high as 50 to 55 mph.It is anticipated that Snow and blowing snow will significantly reduce visibility to near zero at times this afternoon and evening. Crawford, Monona, Carroll, Ida, and Sac County are in a blizzard warning from noon today until midnight. Shelby and Harrison County are in a winter storm warning. Audubon and Greene County are in a winter weather advisory. Expecations are that dangerous traveling conditions will develop this afternoon and travel should be restricted to emergencies only.
