Denison Police Reports Monday Afternoon Collision
The Denison Police Department reports an accident that happened Monday afternoon in Denison at the intersection of HWY 30 and South 11th St.
The report shows that on Monday around 1:30 pm, 19-year-old Yahaira Monroy-Portillo of Denison was driving a 2008 Toyota heading East on US HWY 30. She began turning left onto S 11th St, and struck a 2015 Dodge Caravan driven by 59-year-old Kevin Larson of Denison. Monroy-Portillo reported that she did not see Larson’s vehicle, and was trying to maintain her car to not slide off the road. She struck Larson’s front driver side corner of Larson’s Dodge Caravan. No injuries were reported, but Monroy Portillo’s Toyota suffered disabling damage that’s estimated to cost $10,000. Larson’s Caravan is estimated to have suffered $7000 in damages from the collision. Monroy-Portillo was cited for failure to provide proof of financial liability.
