Carroll Man Charged with Second-Degree Burglary sets Trial Date for Feb 9th

A Carroll man who is charged with second-degree burglary is set to appear before a jury in February.

30-Year-Old Brice Shrimpton was arrested in December for allegedly kicking in a door of an occupied residence. He was accused of breaking and entering a Carroll residence during the early morning of December 14. This alleged action violated an existing no-contact order, and Shrimpton allegedly damaged property.

The Carroll County District Court records show he is charged with the class C felony, and met with the prosecutors on Monday. During the pretrial conference, no plea agreement was reached, and jury proceedings were set for Tuesday, February 9th. Shrimpton has demanded the right to a speedy trial and will appear before a jury just under two months after his arrest. If he is found guilty of his charges, Shrimpton faces a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment and fined $10,000.
