CCHF Food Distribution Continues to Serve Growing Need; Volunteers Urgently Needed
Every third Tuesday of the month, the Crawford County Hunger Fighters (CCHF) hosts a drive-through food distribution at the Presbyterian Church to support local families in need. Last month alone, over 8,000 pounds of food were distributed to 189 families, reaching 326 adults and 140 children.
Each recipient is required to meet eligibility guidelines established by the U.S. government. As the cost of living continues to rise, so too does the need for food assistance in our community—making the role of volunteers more crucial than ever.
CCHF currently relies on a dedicated group of local volunteers, but the organization is in urgent need of four to five additional individuals to help manage the monthly distribution process. Volunteer duties include:

Setting up tables at the Presbyterian Church on the third Monday of each month at 5:00 p.m. (setup takes approximately 30 minutes).

Loading food sacks into vehicles on the third Tuesday of each month from 2:15 to 5:00 p.m.

Taking down and storing tables on the third Tuesday from 5:00 to 5:30 p.m.
“Volunteering is a great way to serve your community and make a real difference in the lives of those struggling to make ends meet,” said organizer Warren Hawn.
Community churches are encouraged to share this request in their bulletins, and local newspapers and radio stations are asked to help spread the word.
