Young Entrepreneur Launches Self-Serve Snack Shop in Woodbine

WOODBINE, Iowa – Dustin and Autumn Moores are proud to announce the opening of a brand-new business in Woodbine, launched by their son, Kolbey Moores. After months of planning and saving, Kolbey has officially opened Kolbey’s Korner, a self-serve snack shop located in a dark red shipping container in the industrial park, just west of the new carwash.
Kolbey initially started earning money by stocking candy machines at the Dairy Sweet, but soon began brainstorming other ways to grow his business. That drive led to the creation of his own shop, fully funded through his savings. With help from his aunt and uncle—who provided both the location and the container—Kolbey was able to bring his vision to life.
The snack shop offers a variety of chips, chocolate, drinks, and even bags of ice. It operates on an honor system: if the doors are open, customers are welcome to come in and shop. Kolbey accepts cash and has a Venmo QR code posted for easy digital payments.
Community members are encouraged to stop by and support this hardworking young entrepreneur. Kolbey’s family asks that all who visit respect the space and remain honest, as the shop represents months of dedication and a promising start to his future endeavors.
