Back the Blue BBQ Raises Money for Crawford County K-9 Project

The June 16 th Back the Blue free BBQ was a great success, despite threats of rain at the
outdoor family event. Gwen Ecklund, president of the Crawford County Republican
Women has presented three checks totaling $3,104 to the Crawford County K-9 Project
for: raffle ticket sales done with a partnership with the Denison Rotary Club; a generous
donation from Amy Malone at Graphix by Amy for event t-shirt sales; and extra cash
donations. Brenna Bird, Iowa Attorney General, was the guest speaker and praised
the community for coming together in this effort.
Many active law enforcement officers and staff, firemen, and first responders from
several agencies were honored and thanked for their outstanding service.

Hunter Soll was the raffle winner of a PIT Boss 2-Burner Tabletop Grill (donated by
Bomgaars) and Barb Wuestewald won a Deluxe Car Detail (donated by Ertz Custom
Detailing). US Senator Charles Grassley, US Senator Joni Ernst and US Congressman
Randy Feenstra each personally donated a US Flag to be flown over the US Capitol.
Those winners were: Denise Peters, Ty Rosburg and Jacob Heitshusen.
