Sioux City Man Appears in Carroll County Court for Drug Possessions.
Earlier this week, A Sioux City man appeared in Carroll County’s District Court for allegations of felony drug possessions.
28-year-old Brandon Schechinger faces one count of a third-offense possession of a controlled substance of methamphetamine, which is a class D felony. The charges are a result of a traffic stop orchestrated by the Carroll Police Department on Sept. 29th. Last Friday Schechinger was taken into custody by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office at the Crawford County Jail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 25th. The class D felony carries a maximum penalty of 5 years in prison and up to $7500 in fines. At the time of the incident, Schechinger had a passenger in his vehicle. The passenger was 23-year-old Katherine Diaz of Denison. She was charged with possession of a controlled substance of methamphetamine, which is a serious misdemeanor.
