Crawford County Supervisors Welcome Local Students to Highlight National Child Abuse Prevention Month

Local elementary school students reading a proclamation out loud highlighted the Crawford County Board of Supervisors weekly meeting on Tuesday.

Fourth-graders from Jodi Muhlbauer's Broadway Elementary School class joined the meeting by way of a Zoom call. Several kids read parts of a document recognizing April as National Child Abuse Prevention Month before the board unanimously approved it. Jennifer Chapman from Crawford County Public Health, Annette Koster from Early Childhood Iowa, and Mollie Scott from Community Partnerships for Protecting Children all attended the meeting in-person to support the cause. Everybody took a picture with Muhlbauer's class on the Zoom monitor after the presentation.

The board also approved a Hungry Canyons Alliance Agreement providing $36,000 for a culvert replacement project on B Avenue along with the Secondary Roads IDOT budget and five-year program. They voted in favor of a tax abatement presented by treasurer Sheri Neddermeyer as well. They finished off the agenda with a brief discussion about installing signs that would remind visitors there is no snow removal on the Yellowsmoke trail.
