Crawford County Supervisors Preparing Tower Site Cover Letter
The Crawford County Board of Supervisors put some finishing touches on a letter that will be sent to landowners of possible sites for new land mobile radio towers during Tuesday's weekly meeting.
The board discussed who in the Charter Oak, Dow City, Vail, and Manilla areas should receive the letter after some minor amendments to it. They expect to invite citizens to respond by way of the county auditor's office within 30 days of the date on the cover letter. It will be sent in addition to a more comprehensive document from the company the board is consulting with on the project.
The board also approved the second reading of the zoning ordinance amendment regarding the decommission of wind turbine tower sites after a public hearing with no written objections. They also discussed a moratorium for gathering information on new wind tower construction as well as a possible zoning ordinance amendment relating to the setback distance for wind turbines.
