RELEASE: St. Anthony Regional Hospital Receives THREE 2021 Women’s Choice Awards® as one of America’s Best Hospitals
St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll, IA, has been named in THREE awards as one of America’s Best Hospitals for Obstetrics, Patient Satisfaction, and Emergency Care by the Women’s Choice Award®, America’s trusted referral source for the best in healthcare. The award signifies that St. Anthony is in the top 6% out of 4,542 hospitals for Obstetrics, Patient Experience rank is #7 out of 1,071 hospitals, (St. Anthony is classified as a medium hospital) and in the top 9% out of 4,542 hospitals for Emergency Care.
“As healthcare workers, we make a strong commitment to provide the best care to our patients,” said Ed Smith, President & CEO of St. Anthony. “We are very proud to celebrate the acknowledgement of our excellent service especially after all the challenges we’ve overcome during the pandemic.”
The methodology for America’s Best Hospitals for these awards is unique in that it combines national accreditations, Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey results and hospital outcome scores with primary research about women’s healthcare preferences. The Women’s Choice Award collects the data for the survey measures and uses a weighted average to award the best hospitals. The award recognizes excellence in emergency care based on several process of care measures focused on the time patients spent in the emergency department. The Women’s Choice Award is also the only award that recognizes excellence in obstetric services based on robust criteria that consider patient satisfaction and clinical excellence.
“Hospital choice is a critical decision, particularly for women, who make over 80% of healthcare decisions and providing a great experience for her throughout her patient journey is a win-win for all involved,” said Delia Passi, founder and CEO of the Women’s Choice Award. “This designation makes it easier for her to choose a hospital where she and her family are more likely to have a better experience and outcome.”
Nationwide, St. Anthony Regional Hospital is:
- One of 408 award recipients representing the hospitals that have met the highest standards for obstetrics across the U.S.
- One of a total of 400 award recipients representing the hospitals that have met the highest standards for patient experience in the U.S.
- One of 477 award recipients representing the hospitals that have met the highest standards for emergency care in the U.S.
