Iowa’s Lost History from the Titanic
Tuesday, September 24th
At 5:30 pm
At the Norelius Community Library
Presented by Darcy Maulsby
Discover the shared connection between an orphan train rider, a kidnapper, a missionary, a wealthy businessman, a wedding guest, a betrayed wife, a farmer, and an immigrant recruiter: all were linked to Iowa and were passengers on the Titanic during its tragic sinking on April 15, 1912.
A surprising number of passengers from all classes had Iowa ties, yet their compelling stories have almost been forgotten. Darcy revives these tales from the “ship of dreams,” offering a unique perspective on the maritime disaster. Engage with the human stories woven into the Titanic’s legacy, learn about the survivors, and delve into the enduring mysteries that captivate us over a century later.
