Tribute Band "Arch Allies" to Perform this Friday Night at Tri-City BBQ Fest
The tribute band Arch Allies will be performing this Friday Night in Denison in conjunction with Tri-City BBQ Fest. Band member Kevin Todd talked about the show. “We’ll be performing our new Male Female show we put together as of January 1st. We have 13 characters we’ll be bringing out and it should be fun.” Todd said there’s many different artists they will tribute Friday night. “We’ll probably come out of the gate with STYX and from STYX we’ll move into Pat Benetar; we added a female vocalist as of the first of the year. After that we’ve added Cheap Trick into our lineup and again we bring the female out every other character with the males and she’ll be doing Heart, a Tina Turner Tribute, Joan Jett, Lita Ford along with Pat Benetar. Our male vocalist, he’ll be doing STYX, Cheap Trick, REO Speedwagon, Queen, Def Leppard and Bon Jovi.” Todd said the band works so hard to get the music sounding as close as possible to the original artists, some fans in the past have mistaken them for lip-syncing. “We have had that problem, you know we work really hard on our vocals to get them to sound as close as we can and that has come into play. It really is a compliment but then it also, when it gets out there, it can be a deternet too but we’ve gotten through and we’re still kicking.” Todd said it’s all about the energy and nostalgia they want to bring to Denison on Friday night. “We want them to come out with a ‘Wow' factor and go home singing all these songs from memory lane and at least go home with one or two memories that they were brought up on with these songs. Our age group is 8 to 80 but with these 70s and 80s tributes it’s hitting a lot of us right in the heart for what we were doing prom night or what we were doing at our first class reunion- something to that effect.” For more information on the Arch Allies one can go to their Facebook page, “Arch Allies”.
