Dunlap Community Development Corporation Holding Annual Membership Drive
Dunlap Community Development Corporation is currently holding their annual membership drive. Jill Schaben with DCDC said there's a lot of history and purpose to the organization. “DCDC has been around the Dunlap community since 1991 and a lot of development through the years through housing development, industrial development, commercial development, those types of things. They hired me about 18 months back and since that time we’ve had even more focus on tourism and beautification of the community as well. So there’s lot’s more grant writing and those types of things.” Schaben said they’re currently looking for community members in the surrounding areas to help support their cause. “We’re asking the community if you think there’s benefit to having DCDC in the community, if we’ve helped you in any way, we're asking you to consider donating at a certain level. That's basically saying you become a voting member so you become someone who has the ability to vote on who serves on the board when election time rolls around. You’re also just contributing to something that hopefully people see value and good in, in having (DCDC) in the community.” Shaben said a flier has been sent out in the Dunlap Community and one can also go to www.dunlapia.com that contains a whole section on Dunlap Community Development Corporation.
