Ruthie is a 4-year-old who has been recently diagnosed with a Chiari type 1 Malformation. Meaning her brain is falling into her spinal canal blocking the flow of cerebrospinal fluid. It was discovered that the intracranial pressure caused by the build up of cerebrospinal fluid is crushing her optic nerves in both eyes. She will be having what is called a Chiari decompression on February 23rd.
