SALES MANAGER, KDSN
Oversee KDSN sales force, giving final approval for all sales initiatives. Specific duties include, providing service to own client list, supervision of sales staff, interpretation and execution of policy, coordination of the sales strategy, promotion of the station, implementation of sales budget, and management of assigned special projects. The Sales Manager will also be part of the local leadership team, coordinating initiatives and strategies with overall corporate goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Maximize all market assets including over the air, streaming and digital assets.
Consistently achieve all revenue goals, control rate and inventory management.
Develop strategic plans to achieve local market and company goals
Handle significant accounts
Explore ways to extend the advertiser’s/sponsor’s reach in relevant ways within the stations capabilities.
Bridge the community of local businesses to the community of connected consumers through networking and community leadership.
Lead staff training, coaching, and team building.
Oversee and supervise all aspects of the sales department while coordinating with other departments.
Hold sales team members accountable to budgets.
Provide every opportunity for sales team members to be successful.
Work closely with programming; maximizing sales opportunities without compromising the product.
Minimum Education and Experience
High School diploma or GED equivalent required, Bachelor's degree preferred
Previous sales experience a minimum of five years required
Experience in radio or related industry, managing multiple sellers required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to communicate effectively and professionally with staff, consultants and business/community leaders
Excellent leadership skills and the passion for developing and growing talent
Proven ability to maximize all sales assets
Ability to direct sales and forecasting
Strategic thinker with vision to create projects and develop big ideas
Detail-oriented with excellent grammar, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
Basic computer proficiency
Ability to maintain a flexible schedule
Ability to secure and maintain a current driver’s license and travel as needed

The ability to demonstrate talking and hearing skills approximately 75% of the time
The ability to demonstrate reaching, handling and fingering skills approximately 60% of the time
The ability to lift, while stationary, up to 20 pounds and carry, while moving, up to 20 pounds, stoop, kneel and demonstrate color vision approximately 35% of the time
Environmental Condition Factors:
The ability to work alone or with others or around others or with customer/public contact and with mechanical/electrical equipment approximately 75% of the time
The ability to work an extended day approximately 60% of the time
