Daniel D. Miller
Services 87 year old Daniel D. Miller, of Manilla, will be held on May 24th, 2025, at St. Peters Catholic Church in Defiance at 11:00 a.m. with luncheon to follow at St. Peters Hall as well as a private family burial.
Daniel passed on Saturday November 30th in Texas.
Survivors include his partner, Sharon Fast; children Danny Miller of Manilla, Mary Harper of Walnut, step-daughters Jamie Fast of Jefferson, Patty Fast and family of Spirit Lake; son in law Jeff Peters of Colorado; sister Sheila Cline of Lohrville; brother Giles Miller of Des Moines; seven Grandchildren; two Step-grandchildren; six Great-Grandchildren and one more on the way; three step great-grandchildren.

Jared “Monk” Lund
A Funeral Service for 44 year old Jared “Monk” Lund, of Battle Creek, will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, April 28th, in the Battle Creek Fire Station. Committal Services will follow in the Danbury Catholic Cemetery. Dress Code request for the service is anything John Deere, Peterbilt, BC Fire Dept. or #LUNDSTRONG.
A Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Sunday, April 27th, in the Battle Creek Fire Station.
Jared passed away on April 23rd, after a courageous battle with Cancer.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Sarah; children: Ethan Davis of Mapleton, Kelsey (Justin) Rutar of Mapleton, Logan (Taylor) Davis of Mapleton, Kiley Davis of South Dakota, Karlye (Lucien) Steinkuehler of Denison, Kenzey Davis of Mapleton, Leighton Davis of Mapleton, and Riley Lund of Battle Creek; parents Larry and Susan Lund of Battle Creek; parents-in-law Bob and Sherry Welte of Danbury; brother Jesse Lund of Battle Creek; sister-in-law Teresa (Kevin) Reitz of Spirit Lake; brother-in-law Justin Welte of Danbury; grandson Creed Rutar and Baby Rutar #2 due in August; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Celebration of Life for 84 year old George Harvey Brus, of Holstein, will be held on Monday, April 14th at 10:30 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Manilla. Graveside service will follow in the Nishnabotna Cemetery in Manilla.
Visitation with family greeting friends will be held on Sunday April 13th from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Pauley Jones funeral home in Denison.

George passed away unexpectedly on March 27th.
George is survived by children Brian (and Lisa) Brus of Newell, Margaret (Peggy) Brus of South Dakota, Mark Brus of Alta, and Cathy (and Daryl) Gerdes of Missouri; ten grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; siblings Judy Nobiling, Jerry (and Millie) Brus, John Brus, and Steve (and Sandi) Brus as well as many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by many friends, including ex-wife and friend Phyllis Brus, and his coffee crew at the Barn in Holstein.

A funeral service for 92-year-old Arlis L. Petersen, of Ute, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, April 14th at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ute, with Reverend Nathan Peitsch officiating. A live stream of the service will be posted on the Goslar Funeral Home website with Arlis’ obituary.
Burial will follow in the Crawford Heights Cemetery in Denison. Fellowship and a meal will follow the burial at the Boulders Conference Center, 2507 Boulders Drive in Denison.
A visitation will be held 12:30 P.M. – 2:00 P.M. on Monday at the church.
Arlis passed away peacefully on April 6th at Homestead Assisted Living in Denison.
Survivors include children, Lynn (Kerri) Petersen of Washington, Lori (Byron) Christman of Ute, Lorene (Dennis) Reimer of Denison, Leanne (Darrell) Neu of Colorado, Leesa (Joel) Kuhlmann of Ute, and Layne Petersen of Florida; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Betty (Dennis) Bilsten Kitt; and many other relatives, and friends.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for 90 year old Don Seufert, of Ute, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 5, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Mapleton. Committal services will follow in the St. Clair Township Cemetery of Ute.
A Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Church.
Don passed away on Saturday, March 29, at his residence.

A Funeral Service for 71 year old Dudley Ullrich, of Denison, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 4th at the Our Savior Lutheran Church of Denison.
Committal will be in the Kiron Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 3rd at the Our Savior Lutheran Church of Denison.
Dudley passed away on March 30th at his residence surrounded by his family.
Surviving Dudley are his wife, Julie; children: Adam (Deanna) Ullrich of Denison, and their three children, Alisyn, Luke and Seth; Levi (Laura) Ullrich of Kiron, and their four children, Keaton, Gavin, Declan and Delaney; Sara (Matt) Roeder of Arthur and their two children, Mason and Ella. Dudley is also survived by three stepchildren: Mark Brungardt of Nebraska and his son Tyce; Greg (Jalyn) Brungardt of Missouri and their two daughters Paityn and Gracie; and Nicole Brungardt of Nebraska. Dudley is also survived by his brothers, Kyle Ullrich and Jeffrey Ullrich.

A Celebration of Life for 75 year old Alfred “Lyle” Miller, of Manilla, will be held on Sunday, March 30th, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at the Golden Leaf Lodge on Main Street in Manilla.
Lyle died on March 13 at Manning Senior Living in Manning.
Lyle is survived by his wife, MaroLee Miller of Manilla; son Michael Miller of Manilla; son Patrick Miller and wife Amanda of Manilla; daughter Kathleen Miller and Matt Moesner of Iowa City; three grandchildren: Casey, Camden and Lily; brother Alan Miller and wife Sue of PA; sister in law Mary Miller of Manilla; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jay passed away on Friday, March 21st at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include wife Kim; children Conrad (Rebecca) Heiden of Denison, Jacob (fiancé Katie) Heiden of CT, and Jaden Heiden of Denison; siblings William (June) Heiden of Grimes, Jerry (Jean) Heiden of Denison, and Patricia Heiden (Bill Waldie) of Iowa City; two grand-pups; many cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.
