Comments by Coach Eller: “Treynor completely controlled the match, but we did a good job
defensively by forcing them to take the majority of their shots from outside of 15 yards. Sam
had a great game in goal and our defense and midfielders did a great job of marking up.
Treynor got a goal off a steal which led to their player being unmarked from about 18 yards out
and the other goal was on a great shot from about 20 yards out. Treynor has a lot of speed and
was able to shut down all of our counters, especially since most of our counters had to be at
least 60 yards long once we regained possession.”

Comments by Coach Eller: “Gilbert was another really good team that we played today who
controlled the possession the entire match. Again, we played good defense, marked up all of
their players well and didn’t give up anything easy. Gilbert scored 2 goals on great one on one
moves after receiving a pass with their back to a defender, turning and getting off a shot from
around 18 yards out. They scored 2 goals on nice headers off of beautiful crossing passes and
they had 1 goal from about 30 yards out just under the crossbar. Their goals were all due to
their players making plays. We just weren’t able to maintain possession enough to create many
shots. Today was a tough day against 2 really good teams, but our schedule will get easier
soon. The teams we faced today made us get better with communication and that should help
us for the remainder of the season”.
