Woodbine alum Layne Pryor gets NFL opportunity with Houston Texans
Last Wednesday, KDSN reported that Woodbine alum and former UNI star tight end Layne Pryor signed with the NFL's Houston Texans to their practice squad.
After going undrafted, Pryor stayed ready, rehabbing his injured leg and returning to the Woodbine community as he joined the coaching staff for a State Championship-bound Woodbine Tigers.
And as he prepared for the bus ride to Cedar Falls for the Tigers' semi-final game, he got the call he's been waiting for. Achieving the NFL dream is monumental for Layne, but he aims to make an impact with the Texans.
KDSN had the opportunity to speak with Layne to discuss his first week in Houston, his effort to get there, and his commitment to staying close to his community.
