Iowa men visit No. 5 Purdue Wednesday night
Iowa coach Ben McCollum says the Hawkeyes have proven they can be competitive against ranked teams, and the next step is finding ways to win close games. After dropping games to Minnesota and Illinois, the Hawkeyes are on the road Wednesday night to take on fifth-ranked Purdue. Foul trouble has been a problem, especially on the road. McCollum says the Hawkeyes need to do a better job of guarding without fouling. McCollum says the combination of star point guard Braden Smith and size on the front line makes the Boilers tough to guard. Purdue is averaging better than 80 points per game. McCollum says Purdue is an elite team on offense. It will be a 5:30 pm, Iowa time tipoff in Mackey Arena.
