East Sac Sweeps West Bend-Mallard; Lewis Central Tops Monarchs in Doubleheader

It was a busy night of basketball across the area with East Sac County picking up a sweep over West Bend-Mallard, while Lewis Central took both games from Denison-Schleswig.

In girls action, East Sac County defeated West Bend-Mallard 44–28, using strong outside shooting to pull away. Sarah Bontrager knocked down five three-pointers and led all scorers with 19 points, providing a big spark for the Raiders throughout the night.

The East Sac County boys followed with a 65–58 win over West Bend-Mallard. The Raiders got steady production across the lineup, led by Westin Julin, who scored 20 points and made several key contributions on both ends of the floor. Julin was named the On the Ball Academy Player of the Game.

At Denison, the Monarch girls fell to Lewis Central 61–25. Macie Vetter of Lewis Central earned On the Ball Academy Player of the Game honors after scoring 14 points in the win. For Denison-Schleswig, Ann Wessel led the Monarchs with 12 points, Sara Mun 14 points, Mariah Carlson 4 points, Isabelle Blume 3 points, Lauren Lambert 2 points. 

In the boys contest, Lewis Central held off Denison-Schleswig 48–32 in a game that featured several lead changes early before the Titans pulled away late. Carter Thielen of Lewis Central was named the On the Ball Academy Player of the Game after finishing with 23 points. The Monarchs were led by Blaine Grady with 12 points, while Santi Lopez added 8 in the loss, Wilson Riphan 4 points, Camdyn Nemitz, Linkin Beeck, Owen Galvin all with 2 points each.
