No. 8 Iowa State men host Colorado Thursday night
Iowa State coach T.J. Otzelberger says the Cyclones' turnaround last week began in practice. After dropping road games to Kansas and Cincinnati, the eighth-ranked Cyclones bounced back with a pair of convincing wins and will be at home on Thursday night against Colorado. Colorado is 2-5 in the Big 12 and enters the game on a five-game losing skid. Otzelberger says the strength of the Buffaloes is their guards. Freshman Isaiah Johnson leads them in scoring at just over 16 points per game. Otzelberger credits senior forward Joshua Jefferson for stepping up as a vocal leader in the last week. Jefferson is averaging nearly 17 and-a-half points and nearly eight rebounds per game. Jefferson felt he needed to step up after two straight losses. The Cyclones are 5-2 in the Big 12 and 18-2 overall.
