Monarchs Girls Season Ends at Harlan

Monarchs Girls Season Ends at Harlan

The Denison-Schleswig Monarchs girls basketball season came to a close Tuesday night on the road at Harlan, falling to the Cyclones 48-32 in postseason play.

Denison-Schleswig came out strong and held the advantage at halftime, leading 22-19 after a solid first half defensive effort. However, midway through the third quarter Harlan began to establish momentum offensively, finding consistent scoring inside led by Kenzley Bruck to swing the game in their favor.

Harlan would pull away in the second half to secure the win and advance to face undefeated (21-0) Bishop Heelan on Saturday.

The Monarchs close the 2025-26 season with a 2-20 overall record.

The On The Ball Academy Player of the Game honors went to Monarch senior Sara Mun for her leadership and performance in her final game.

Tuesday night also marked the end of the high school careers for four Monarch seniors:

Kelly Rodriguez
