Monarchs Season Comes to a Close in Postseason Loss at Storm Lake

The Denison-Schleswig Monarch boys basketball season came to an end Monday night in postseason play as the Monarchs fell to Storm Lake, 73-30.

Storm Lake was led by senior Cameron Boyd, who delivered a standout performance with 29 points. With the effort, Boyd moved into third place on Storm Lake’s all-time scoring list.

The Monarchs were led offensively by senior Grady with 8 points. Roman Bygness and Sila each added 6 points. Galvin finished with 4, while Nemitz and Lopez chipped in 3 points apiece.

Denison-Schleswig closes the 2025-26 season with a 4-19 overall record.

Monday night also marked the final game in a Monarch uniform for eight seniors: Grady, Nemitz, Beeck, Galvin, Bygness, Lopez, Palmer, and Baker. The senior class provided leadership, effort, and commitment to the program throughout their careers and leaves a lasting impact on Monarch basketball.

The On The Ball Academy Player of the Game went to Storm Lake senior Cameron Boyd for his 29-point performance.
