Storm Lake standout Jaidyn Coon announced his decision to commit to the University of Iowa on Thursday on social media.
Last season for the Tornadoes the future Hawkeye averaged 22 points, and 9 rebounds per game while guiding Storm Lake to the semifinals of the state tournament while claiming Mr. Basketball this season.
This decision comes in the wake of the Hawkeyes making the Elite Eight for the first time since 1987 under first year coach Ben McCollum.
Rated as a four-star in 247Sports, Coon is regarded as the nation's 116th-ranked player overall, as the No. 44 small forward and as the No. 3 player in Iowa.
Coon was originally committed to Creighton, but reopened his recruitment following the announcement of longtime head coach Greg McDermott's retirement.
