The Denison-Schleswig Monarch softball team picked up a huge road sweep over Creston on Monday night, improving to 7-5 on the season.

 

Game 1: Monarchs 22, Creston 7

After falling behind 5-0 in the first inning and trailing 7-3 entering the 7th, the Monarchs erupted for an incredible 19-run seventh inning to complete a stunning comeback victory.

Senior Emily Gehlsen led the offensive attack with a 4-hit night, including a double and her 3rd home run of the season. Denison-Schleswig finished with 18 hits as a team.

Game 2: Monarchs 5, Creston 4 (8 innings)

The Monarchs needed extra innings to complete the sweep, and freshman Isabel Blume delivered the biggest hit of the night. Blume ripped an RBI single in the 8th inning that proved to be the game-winning run as Denison-Schleswig secured the sweep.

Monarch Baseball

The Monarchs split their road doubleheader with Creston and now sit at 11-3 on the season.

Game 1: Creston 5, Monarchs 4

Game 2: Monarchs 14, Creston 1

Cole Kastner blasted his 4th home run of the season to help power the Monarchs to the game two victory.
