The Denison-Schleswig Monarch baseball team fell to Lewis Central 6-1 on Tuesday night, dropping to 11-4 on the season.

 

The Monarchs finished with 5 hits in the contest. Senior Owen Galvin earned the Kastner Seed Hoegemeyer Hit of the Game after leading off the 3rd inning with a base hit and later scoring the Monarchs’ lone run on an RBI by Cole Kastner.

 

Camdyn Nemitz turned in a complete-game effort on the mound, striking out 3 while taking the loss. Lewis Central’s Owen Duffek tossed a complete game and struck out 13.

 

The Monarchs return to action Thursday night at Harlan.

 

JV Baseball: Lewis Central 18, Monarchs 4

 

Monarch softball fell to Lewis Central 8-2, dropping to 7-6 on the season.

 

The Monarchs will be back in action Wednesday night at Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson with first pitch scheduled for 8:00 PM.

 

JV Softball picked up a 12-0 victory over Lewis Central.
