Harlan wins late over Denison-Schleswig in Baseball & Softball Thursday Night

The Denison-Schleswig Monarch softball team came up just short Thursday night, falling to Harlan Community 9-7.
The Monarchs trailed 2-1 early before rallying to take a 7-2 lead heading into the 7th inning. Harlan answered with a big final frame to complete the comeback.
Denison-Schleswig finished with 11 hits while Harlan collected 14.

Senior Rylan Ipsen earns tonight’s honor after a 2-hit, 2-RBI performance. Her clutch RBI double in the 6th inning helped extend the Monarch lead and capped off a strong night at the plate.
The Monarchs fall to 8-7 on the season, while Harlan improves to 7-5.

The Monarchs battled back after trailing 3-0 to tie the game late, but Harlan responded with five runs and pulled away for an 8-3 victory.
Denison-Schleswig falls to 11-5 on the season, while the Cyclones improve to 9-4.
