Gracewell Nursing Facility To Receive Governor’s Award For Quality Of Care
The Gracewell Nursing Facility will receive the 2023 Governor’s Award for Quality of Care. Governor Kim Reynolds will be in Denison to present the award on Thursday, June 8th. Department of Inspections and Appeals Director Larry Johnson will be attending the award presentation. The social hour will start at 1:45 pm and the award program will begin at 2:15 pm. Gracewell Administrator Amy Schultz said she appreciates that the governor will take the time out of her day to award the Quality of Care award to Gracewell. Schultz also said she enjoys how the governor recognizes the hard work that goes into long-term care for the elderly. “This award is a huge accomplishment for our entire team. Providing quality of care is something that everybody needs to be recognized for. It’s not just one area,” Some services provided by Gracewell include short-term rehabilitation and long-term care, hospice care, memory care, dietary care, and much more. “Our team works day in and day out to make sure we’re doing right by our residents, and making sure that they’re receiving all the quality care that they deserve,” Schultz said Gracewell stands apart from other senior care facilities because the staff takes time to get to know the residents. From knowing their likes and dislikes to their daily routines. “And every department is in on that. Whether it’s making sure they get their daily newspaper, or following up on anything that a resident needs or wants… And it truly is a whole team effort to make sure that we’re providing that quality of care.” The award presentation is open to the public, but there will be limited space for the event.
