Boyer Valley Community School District Gets a New Look for the New School Year
As School is now in full swing for the Boyer Valley Community, they’ve started the School Year off with a new logo along with new graphics around the schools. Superintendent, Jeremy Christiansen said it all came to be starting with some conversations last year. “So last year we had a conversation, I think it actually started before I was employed by the district. Some logo changes , some trademarks, stuff like that. So that process has taken place in both Dunlap and Dow City and they now have received some new school logos around the building to try to continue to raise school spirit and make the place look nice.” Christiansen said it wasn’t just one individual involved to make this all happen. “Obviously we had a good team, both elementary and middle school principals along with myself and multiple other people were involved. We took a look at how we can make our school learning environment more inviting to students, staff and community. So we kind of took our traditional bulldog and found something that kind of refreshed it a little bit and then started putting that up around the building. Anytime the kids look around and see the excitement or logos, whatever you want to call them around the building, school spirit goes up, hopefully student achievement scores continue to go up”. Chritiansen said they had a goal in mind when choosing the new logo and discussed how they came up with the new Bulldog logo. “Kind of a more full bulldog, not just a head, kind of a baby bulldog; it came down to are we a cartoon type of look? Are we a mean, aggressive bulldog look? Scott Frohlich our elementary principal, we were looking and came across this one, and he said ‘You know that one looks prestigious , proud, and so I think that’s what Boyer Valley is at this time and we’re all just trying to continue for improvements in all those areas and so I think that’s the big meaning behind it”.
