City of Denison looking to make changes with Denison Senior Center and Tables Ordinance Amending Code of Ordinances Regarding Fireworks
On Tuesday Night the Denison City Council held their first regular meeting of June. One of the first topics of discussion involved possibly looking at changes to the facility hosting events and keeping the profit as the City owns the property. The City is also concerned about possible legal liabilities with events being hosted.
Another major “hot” topic of discussion was amending the current fireworks ordinance to enable citizens more ability to use fireworks this July however it was tabled due to concerns of wording in the resolution, the issue of the City competing with local vendors, as well as their not being enough time before the Holiday to properly go through multiple readings.
