Storm Lake Poliece Respond to Machete Assault Monday Morning

According to the Storm Lake Police Department, officers responded to an assault involving a machete around 6:30 this morning near 7th and Ontario Streets. The suspect was apprehended at a residence in the 700 block of Geneseo Street, and is now in custody. According to a statement released by Storm Lake Police, this was an isolated incident, and the suspect and victim are known to each other. More information is expected to be released later today.
The investigation is ongoing, and public assistance is requested. Anyone who witnessed the incident or has security camera footage from the area is asked to contact the Storm Lake Police Department at 712-749-2525.
