KOSSUTH COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG) - KCRG is reporting a house explosion hurt two people in Northern Iowa.
Firefighters and first responders had to rescue one woman who was trapped in the rubble.
That happened at 9 a.m. Monday in Kossuth County at 606 110th Street, southeast of West Bend, Iowa.
The Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office said a caller reported a house exploded, sending debris all over the acreage and road. Two people were home, a woman who had to be rescued - and a man who was able to crawl out from the debris on his own.
The woman has been identified as 44-year-old Catherine Fleischhacker and the man is 21-year-old Brett Lanning. Both were taken to area hospitals.
Authorities said a third person did live at the house but they were not there at the time of the explosion.
