Lake View Mayor Named Mayor Of The Year By Iowa Mayor’s Association
Lake View Mayor John Westergaard has been named the Iowa Mayor’s Association 2024 Mayor of the Year for a community with a population under 2,000. This award recognizes current mayors with at least two years of service in the governmental position for their extraordinary commitment to their community. To be eligible, candidates must be nominated by members of the Iowa League of Cities, Iowa Mayors Association, Iowa City/County Managers Association, Iowa Municipal Finance Officers, and support letters sent in from community members, then selected and approved by the Iowa Mayors Association. This past week, Westergaard presented the award during the League’s annual Conference and Exhibit in Sioux City.
