Altoona Man Arrested on Carroll County Warrant for Assault and Witness Tampering

An Altoona man was arrested Monday morning on a Carroll County warrant stemming from an alleged assault and threats made in early April.

According to Carroll County District Court documents, 25-year-old Trenton Alan Miller is accused of assaulting an individual on April 4 in the 900 block of Amy Circle in Carroll. Authorities say the incident began with a verbal exchange before Miller allegedly struck the victim from behind with a closed fist, then continued the assault after the individual fell to the ground.

Court records state that Miller then threatened to kill the victim and their family if law enforcement was contacted.

Miller was taken into custody but has since been released after posting a $25,000 surety bond. He is facing multiple charges, including tampering with a witness, a Class C felony; first-degree harassment, an aggravated misdemeanor; and assault causing bodily injury, a serious misdemeanor.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 8 at the Carroll County Courthouse. If convicted on all charges, Miller could face up to 13 years in prison and more than $24,000 in fines.
