Denison and Area Communities Shine with 2025 Paint Iowa Beautiful Grant

DENISON – Several local communities, including Denison, have been recognized as recipients of the 2025 Paint Iowa Beautiful Grant, a collaborative initiative between Keep Iowa Beautiful and Diamond Vogel Paint. For 21 years, this program has supported Iowa communities by providing thousands of gallons of paint to revitalize public spaces, facilities, and community buildings.
The City of Denison, along with the Lake View Foundation, Sac City Chamber of Commerce, Missouri Valley Park Board, Logan Public Library, Storm Lake’s The Bridge, Charter Oak Development Corporation, Dunlap’s Boyer Valley Youth Organization, and the Shelby County Wellness Alliance in Harlan, have been awarded paint grants for various community-enhancing projects.
Andy Frantz, Executive Director of Keep Iowa Beautiful, emphasized the program’s impact, stating, “Paint Iowa Beautiful is more than just fresh paint. It’s about revitalizing community spaces and strengthening connections. When volunteers come together to improve local amenities, it cultivates leadership, civic pride, and a renewed sense of place.”
In Denison, city officials plan to use the grant to refresh public spaces and maintain community structures. Similar projects are set for other recipients, all aiming to enhance their local environments and create a more vibrant appearance.
The Paint Iowa Beautiful program continues to highlight the importance of volunteerism and community pride, bringing together residents to make a lasting difference in their towns.
