Car Collision Sends Two to Hospital

A Denison Police Department accident report indicates that a 13 and 16 year old female were injured in a vehicle collision on S 9th St. and US 30/4th Ave S in Denison yesterday at approximately 4:04 P.M.

The accident occurred as 28 year old Brian Kepford of Denison was driving North on 9th Street in a 2009 Chevy Tahoe when he attempted to cross highway 30. Kepford did not did not see the 2013 Ford Edge driven by 41 year old Joan Cornelius of Denison. Kepford stated that a third non-contact vehicle was making a right turn onto South 9th Street, which blocked his view of the Ford Edge. As Kepford crossed the intersection, he struck the Edge on the passenger side. The right front passenger reported a shoulder/arm injury. The right rear passenger complained of facial, head, and neck injury. Both passengers were taken to Crawford County Memorial Hospital by EMS. Damage to the Ford Edge is estimated to be $7,000 and damage to Kepford's Tahoe is estimated to cost $1,000. Kepford was cited for failure to yield to vehicle stop sign.
